Gareth Evans

With almost thirty years’ experience in British and international education, Gareth Evans is an internationally experienced school leader, inspector and education consultant.

His unique combination of successful Headship, inspection expertise, executive coaching and educational consultancy enables him to support schools, leaders, parents and pupils with confidence, credibility and insight.

After being educated at Nottingham High School, Gareth studied Education at the University of Durham, graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1996. He began his teaching career in inner London before moving into schools in Surrey and Hampshire, where he established a reputation for academic excellence and inspirational teaching. He prepared many pupils for competitive grammar and independent school entry, including Sutton and Kingston examinations.

In 2010, Gareth embarked on an international leadership career, holding Headship and senior leadership positions in leading British international schools in Greece, Belgium, Tunisia and Serbia. During this period he gained his Headship qualification and led schools through periods of growth, strategic development and improvement.

Most recently, Gareth led the British International School, Belgrade, through its first successful British Schools Overseas accreditation, strengthening his reputation for inspection readiness and sustainable school improvement.

Throughout his leadership career, Gareth has remained committed to two guiding principles: kindness and excellence. He believes exceptional schools combine high expectations, outstanding teaching and genuine care for every child.

As an Overseas Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate and through other inspection work in the UK and internationally, Gareth has developed a comprehensive understanding of outstanding educational provision, leadership, governance and inspection expectations.

Gareth also served as English Adviser to the Independent Association of Prep Schools, supports newly appointed Headteachers through mentoring and works as a qualified executive coach.

Alongside school consultancy, Gareth supports families with school selection, admissions, educational planning, academic mentoring and tuition. His experience with schools and admissions teams gives parents insight that goes far beyond traditional tutoring.

Gareth is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Few education consultants combine classroom teaching, international Headship, school inspection, BSO accreditation, executive coaching, school improvement and parent consultancy at this level.
