Educational Consultancy for Schools
The educational consultancy Gareth offers is tailored to support school development. This includes in-person as well as remote visits. In order to identify strengths and areas that need development, he can undertake an audit of a school’s teaching and learning, curriculum provision and pupil personal development. As an experienced schools’ inspector, Gareth is able to provide comprehensive guidance in how to achieve outstanding outcomes from inspections. He can also conduct appraisals for the senior leadership team.
As a fully trained reportinginspector with a comprehensive understanding of ISI’s Framework 23 and experience working for PENTA which inspects British curriculum schools all over the world, there is no one better positioned to provide the guidance and advice on making improvements and identifying strengths within the organisation.

Mentoring
Many Heads have no mentor, coach or critical friend with relevant experience. And yet, it has never been more important to have the input of a wise, supportive, experienced mentor who can listen, advise and offer options for addressing the various challenges which headship poses. This is a completely confidential service tailored in any way as required.
Appraisal
Thanks to his extensive experience, Gareth has developed a personalised 360-degree appraisal for Heads and SLTs which includes on-site interviews, meetings and online surveys of staff, parent, and governor views. A detailed report containing qualitative and quantitative feedback and agreed recommendations is then provided for the Head and Chairman. All those who have been appraised by Gareth have found the experience affirming, helpful and manageable. He is also able to provide testimony from Heads or Chairs of Governors should this be required.
Appointments
Gareth offers an individualised service for schools seeking to make headship or senior leadership appointments. Over the last year,he has led the search on behalf of two prep schools who made successful appointments of new heads. Throughout the process, he offers the school, governors and candidates complete support and tailored feedback. Being closely networked to the prep school sector, Gareth is well-connected to the many talented people seeking new challenges and is able to help boards find the right fit for any vacancy. He’s able to provide testimony from Chairs of Governors should this be required.

Having had a great deal of experience as a leading education consultant as well as twenty years as a prep school head, Gareth is well placed to help.
